A new Candidate has declared for the Texas House District 60, (our District) with a new approach to politics, “Find out what the needs of the community are before drawing a conclusion”!
David E. Shupp, a retired Air Traffic Controller, has announced his Candidacy to be our representative to the Texas House of Representatives. He has promised, “I will be a True Representative of the people speaking the voice of our district on the Texas floor of Congress”.
The diversity in our district is both good and bad. We have been made so diverse we are rendered almost ineffective. District 60 is: Brown, Eastland, Hood, Palo Pinto, Stephens & Shackelford counties. All but two of the counties are missed by interstate 20, which, goes through none of our towns.
Diversity is good to: learn and experience the arts and cultural heritage of each other; to try new foods, travel from rural to urban and back again. It is bad when it: disorganizes us; divides families; promote a mind frame of stinginess & narrows our point of view. When the Republicans gerrymandered (re-drew the districts) they did so with a purpose. To divide us up so radically that one county can barely speak to the other least of all every county. We have Brown & Hood hanging out on the ends with no cohesiveness to their neighbors. This was done mean spiritedly to keep us in a Republican line with only their voice speaking for you! Now that they are exposed for what they did it is time for us to right their wrong. Vote Democratic this election; Vote for Dave Shupp!!
We do not need the Republican: trick loans & foreclosures; their vetoing 10,000,000 children & babies health care; their killing & maiming our next generation in an illegal contrived war; their ignoring those same Vets when they get home and not providing continuing health care with adequate civil readjustment the Vets earned, deserve & merited; we do not need the Republicans filibustering our farm bill in the Senate while they feed off the benefits of the “for rich only” tax cuts; while they dally with Mr. Delay and toe tapping escapades. ETC: ETC: ETC!
